The once frontman of ’80s hardcore punk band Black Flag, Henry Rollins has gone on to lead a very interesting career since the Californian band’s demise in ‘86. Raised by his mother in Washington, D.C., Rollins has transitioned from a misguided child on Ritalin to a modern renaissance man with professional work in the realms of spoken word, music production, writing, comedy, publishing, acting, radio DJ and activist. Thanks to YouTube’s Reserve Channel, Rollins sits down with interviewer Pharrell to discuss among other things how he became the lead singer of Black Flag, what led him to writing and spoken word, and his decision not to use drugs or alcohol.
