Sometimes, you need the best of both worlds. That’s neither here nor there, yet so too is the Kubo Shandal, presented here as a part of Y-3‘s Spring/Summer 2013 line. Taking cues from – you guessed it – traditional shoe and sandal silhouettes, the Kubo Shandal combines the breathability of a sandal with the protective elements that only a shoe can provide. The upper is composed of stretch mesh with nappa leather, with a unique wrap closure providing breathability and lockdown fit for the silhouette. The two-part outsole is composed of EVA, reinforced with rubber pods in high-impact areas. The Kubo Shandal is available on the brand’s web store for €240 EUR (approximately $312 USD).
