During he and ?uestlove’s nearly secret performance at Brooklyn Bowl on Monday night, D’Angelo

During he and ?uestlove‘s nearly secret performance at Brooklyn Bowl on Monday night, D’Angelo himself told the audience that his highly anticipated, long-awaited third album is almost finished. The LP just so happens to be produced by ?uest, who recently deemed it “classic,” “totally brilliant,” and “an extremely hard pill to swallow” in an interview with Billboard. Under their moniker ‘The Soulquarians: Brothers In Arms,’ the two played an intimate set on Monday that consisted of some new songs, some old ones – including D’Angelo’s “The Root” and “Africa” – and some covers, including their take on “Tell Me If You Still Care,” the 1983 hit R&B song by The SOS Band. Check out videos of the aforementioned down below via Okayplayer, and be on the lookout for new music coming very soon from the neo soul pioneer’s first LP in 13 years.
