Drawing influence from various elements of childhood, Dutch designer Jurgen Kuipers has designed a do-it-yourself kit for a bicycle. The bike, simply entitled “Sawyer,” is composed almost completely of wooden panels. The components of the bicycle are delivered via mini model-style molded sprue, with the user of the product cutting out each piece. “Sawyer” won first place at the International Bicycle Design Competition in Taipei, underlining the innovative nature of the bike. The bike also comes with a 1:1 scale model, with an option to keep the working mechanical parts out. Assembly required on this one.
