With Apple‘s dominant array of technology devices, it’s not unfathomable to speculate on the brand’s foray into a previously untapped, though sizable niche: gaming. While Microsoft has a long-running, successful stake in the market, TechCrunch reports that Apple has been meeting with developers at this year’s Game Developers Conference to bring an Apple game controller to the market. While its existence is yet to be officially confirmed, beefed up patent submissions for D-pad controllers, Apple’s existing mediums for gameplay (i.e. iPhone, iPad and iPod), and a tip-off from AnandTech‘s editors all signal the controller’s existence.
