Back in January, we received the rebellious, firearm-filled music video for Charli XCX‘s single “You (Ha Ha Ha),” which is a little reminiscent of Spring Breakers, except the film only just came out last week. This week is actually Spring Break for most college students in the U.S., and fittingly, the English singer-songwriter just released a track that would make a nice addition to any beach-by-day, club-by-night playlist. Charli’s only 20, so let’s just say she plotted the timing of this herself. The track, “What I Like,” starts off with the build-up of a big electro anthem, but at about 20 seconds in it transforms into a lighter, dancy indie pop song about fun, young romance. It’s appropriately themed for her debut album, True Romance, which is set for an April 16 release through IAMSOUND Records.
