After Dr. Dre cashed in big time last year, Diddy has once again been named the richest star in the hip-hop landscape by Forbes. Surprised? Then have a look at his $580 million fortune, which is generated by his numerous business ventures such as his deal with Ciroc vodka and his Sean John and Enyce clothing lines, his marketing firm Blue, and some tech start-ups.
As far as Diddy’s profitable deal with the vodka brand is concerned, Edward Jones & Co Equity analyst Jack Russo told Forbes:
“It is one of the fastest-growing brands within vodka Consumers are feeling a little bit better about their situation, and with that, they’re willing to spend more on premium products.”
Numero dos is held by none other than Jay-Z with a net worth of $475 million, due to a partial ownership on his Roc Nation label and management company. He is followed by last year’s top earner Dr. Dre with $350 million since he is still involved in the hugely successful Beats by Dre headphones brand. Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman comes in at fourth place whereas 50 Cent concludes the top 5 with $125 million to his name.
