Developed by its own in-house ETO division of specialty vehicle production, Jaguar has unveiled its 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT – a suped-up, street-legal iteration of the original XKR-S. While the automobile retains the original’s supercharged 5.0 liter V8 – boasting 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque – and six-speed automatic transmission, the remainder of the design has been fine-tuned to more efficiently make use of the car’s monstrous power. Carbon fiber has been applied to the likes of the front air splitter, dive planes and wheel arch spats to shed weight while a redesigned rear diffuser, aluminum front under tray and exaggerated rear spoiler create maximum downforce. The XKR-S GT also sports a new hood to aid in engine cooling while additional upgrades include everything from larger carbon-ceramic brakes, wider 20-inch alloy wheels, and Pirelli Corsa tires to revised suspension and exhaust systems, adaptive dampers, increased spring rates and more. With just 30 units set to arrive in North America (25 in the United States, five in Canada), the 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT will go on sale this August for $174,000 USD.
