For a while there, “All Gold Everything” was heard from every lowered Honda window this side of pop music, with Atlanta’s own Trinidad Jame$ experiencing a good measure of success off of the addictive single. So much success, in fact, that despite flagrant vulgarities and drug references amuck, Jame$ was invited to perform the hit on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon alongside The Roots. While its certainly encouraging that a young rapper can, in fact, “get money anymore,” there’s something about the luster of “All Gold” that is lost when translated to public television. Regardless, one must respect Trinidad Jame$’ ambitious rise to stardom. Be sure to check out the performance, then the artist’s Don’t Be S.A.F.E. album, available on iTunes now.
