Natural Selection Denim was founded in 2009 with inspiration coming from Charles Darwin’s book The Origin of Species by the way of Natural Selection. But survival in today’s highly saturated denim market is no easy feat, and for Spring/Summer 2013 the British label aims to separate itself from the pack with carefully considered denim pieces and a subtle British aesthetic. Focusing on fit, fabrication, finishing techniques and understated detailing, Natural Selection evolves its offerings this season with 5-pocket styles in a variety of fits — skinny, carrot, taper, narrow and straight — and a multitude of washes ranging from raw to buried. New for the brand, meanwhile, is the Chapman denim jacket in an antique sky finish, along with the inky Isis denim shirt and Tennis Knit in navy.
