Following Lil B‘s surprise diss track “I’m The Bada$$,” New York emcee Joey Bada$$ quickly released his response to the Based God’s comments on his track “Don’t Quit Your Day Job.” Now that the world is patiently waiting to see if Lil B is willing to go another round, Joey sits down with MTV and discusses why he chose to retaliate in the first place, going on to say:
I just linked up with my homey [Lee] Bannon, and he played this beat and was like, ‘Yo, Lil B dis record?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, ‘ight’.” “Who knows?” he responded when asked about the BasedGod’s motives here. “But if somebody sends a jab at me, I’ll just send one twice as hard. I really didn’t have to respond, I don’t feel so, but I just did it. I don’t know why… [Actually] it’s too easy, that’s what it is. It’s too easy, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ I’m just flexing my skill on him.
The ball is now in the Based God’s court.
