To commemorate the recent collaborative effort between Japan’s COMME des GARÇONS and Parisian brand Hermès, an event was held that showcased the “Comme des Carrés” Black and White Collection – an ensemble of five printed scarves that were as prominent in artistry as they were in function. With renditions of Hermès’ synonymous horse iconography, the squares also upheld COMME’s abstract nature, which in turn creates a seamless blend of contemporary with tradition — perhaps the exact effect the collective intended. With a continued style of luxury and artistic modernity, the event was a perfect reflection and backdrop to the release of the collection. Sold in limited numbers, the scarves are priced between $550 and $720 USD and are available at COMME des GARÇONS outlets in Paris, New York and Tokyo, as well as Dover Street Market in London and Ginza.
