Big honors for Eminem. The Detroit native has become the first artist to have four singles simultaneously in the top 20 of the Billboard charts since The Beatles in 1964. With the help of his Rihanna-assisted single “The Monster” debuting at no. 3 this week and “Berzerk,” “Survival” and “Rap God” sitting at no. 15-17 respectively, Em has narrowly surpassed the Beatles to become the bestselling artist of the last decade. In addition to this, he has also set a personal record as well, with “The Monster” being his very first song to top the R&B/Hip Hop charts. A major reason for this dominance is that the rap charts were based heavily on airplay previously but are now focused more on digital sales and streaming. While the official first-week sales number for his MMLP2 have yet to be seen, it is clear that Em can still sell.
