Tyler, the Creator Criticizes the YouTube Awards, Even Though He's Performing
After Flying Lotus, Tyler, the Creator has shared his view on the first-ever YouTube Music Awards.

After Flying Lotus, Tyler, the Creator has shared his view on the first-ever YouTube Music Awards. There’s a delicate difference though — Tyler’s part of the show’s lineup. He lets the world know that his performance is not an endorsement of the contents of the show and states that the awards signify a missed opportunity to give credit to the directors — the real creators of videos. He took the following words to Twitter:
YOUTUBE AWARDS COULDVE FUCKING HAD NOMINATIONS ON COOL CREATIVE VIDEOS SHIT BUT NOOOO AGAIN ITS THE MOST TEENY BOPPER POP SHIT. YOU ARE BUTT… WHY NOT GIVE AWARDS TO JUST DIRECTORS, THESE FUCKING WEAK ASS ARTIST DONT COME UP WITH THESE SHOTS OR SIT IN COLORING FUCK THEM THEY SUCK… AT LEAST TORO GOT A NOM THATS SICK… EARL AND I HAVE TO PERFORM THERE NEXT WEEK HAHAHAHAHA
Miley Cyrus, Macklemore, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, One Direction and Selena Gomez are among the nominees at the award show which will air live from New York City on November 3, with performances from Tyler and Earl along with Lady Gaga, M.I.A., Arcade Fire, Avicii, Walk off the Earth, and Eminem. Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts are the hosts, while Spike Jonze will function as the creative director.
