For the 2013 installment of the annual Parcours Saint-Germain in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, renowned Japanese paper toy artist Shin Tanaka was tapped by the iconic Karl Lagerfeld for a display of 20 brand new origami-style characters. The results – dubbed “Paper Toy Mania” and now on display at Lagerfeld’s Parisian flagship along the city’s Left Bank – include caricature immortalizations of Lagerfeld himself, as well as his trusty companion Choupette. Hilariously fitting, both sport the designer’s signature oversized shades. “Paper Toy Mania” will remain on display through October 27 before making its way to Berlin.
