After taking a brief hiatus courtesy of increased “police activity,” stencil master Banksy returns with a new piece, created as a part of his month-long residency on the streets of New York. This time, Banksy chose to hit Hell’s Kitchen – an area not particularly known for its artistic appreciation – with a stencil on the facade of the Hustler Club on 12th Avenue. The piece, entitled Waiting in Vain, depicts a man idling outside of the notorious strip club with a bouquet of withering flowers. While this may be a somewhat depressing take on nude dancing, at least this confirms that the artist knows where he can’t find love. While we debate whether Waiting in Vain is the graffiti equivalent of Kanye’s verse on “New Day,” enjoy the photos featured here.
