With trap taking over the sonic airwaves, it was only a matter of time before Canadian bass dons Zeds Dead gave us a piece of their mind. Recently invited onto Diplo‘s BBC Radio 1 Diplo and Friends show, Zeds Dead debut the previously unreleased track titled “Ratchet.” Strung together via a bed of cavorting basslines and sampling from “Bandz A Make Her Dance” by Juicy J, “Ratchet” sees the duo’s prolific production in a melange of recognizable traits, blending big snare and hi-hat drops with custom moombathon samples over dubstep’s prominent 140 BPM. Compact with a set of provoking subs, “Ratchet” comes as another offering before their forthcoming Hot Sauce EP drop, which is due tomorrow (January 29) via Mad Decent.
