The annually held Consumer Electronics Show was recently hosted in Las Vegas with over 3,000 exhibitors showcasing the latest technological innovations in the fields of audio, photography, automotive electronics, lifestyle electronics and more. Emphasizing interactivity for attendees, emerging innovation was placed at the fingertips of visitors as various concepts and displays competed for attention. It seems clear a further implementation in flexible OLED screens, 3D, and Ultra HD or 4K displays are on the horizon for consumers as a new standard, promising to eclipse the current LCD benchmark. While retail prices are still elevated in most cases and an incentive to buy is not high due to recessions, giants like Samsung, LG and Sony continue to develop the ‘next big thing.’ Also featured were keynote presentations from innovators at Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Tumblr, YouTube and Amazon discussing the continuing shift toward mobile technology, with guest speaker Bill Clinton touching on how mobile devices can be used to “bridge the divides of the world.”
