The Weeknd Signs with Republic Records
After dropping off three heralded mixtapes, Canadian singing sensation The Weeknd has finally inked

After dropping off three heralded mixtapes, Canadian singing sensation The Weeknd has finally inked a deal with Universal Republic. And as has been talked about for some time now, the first order of business is to release Abel’s much-anticipated Trilogy, including mixed and mastered versions of the aforementioned projects, along with some new material. We can expect that to drop on November 13 of this year. But until then, congrats to both The Weeknd and Republic Records and read the official statement below.
The joint venture between Republic Records and the Canada-based XO sees The Weeknd’s vision preserved and magnified on a much larger scale. The XO initiative has grown from a small collective– with roots based in the metropolitan streets of Toronto– to a marquee business partner, and it will only evolve further within this structure.
