Designer Siki Im and his eponymous label have unveiled an upcoming Spring 2013 collection at New York Fashion Week. Making use of American-made denim and specialty fabrics from mills in Japan and Italy, the upcoming collection was inspired by John Loengard’s black-and-white portraits of Georgia O’Keeffe at home on New Mexico’s famed Ghost Ranch. The result is a number of elegant, draped tunics and examples of drop-crotch pants, lightweight cotton hoodies, and unstructured suiting alongside collaborative sandals from Teva and graphic tees highlighted by a bovine skull motif. Juxtaposing feminine-inspired silhouettes with a dash of utilitarianism, SIKI IM’s Spring 2013 collection will be available early next year at select stockists.
