Each year NBA 2K cuts the net as the leading basketball genre videogame for its yearly upgrades from My Player to the Michael Jordan Experience. Among the 2K13 rollouts that includes Guest Executive Producer Jay-Z and the appearance of the 1992 (Ha! As if there’s another one) Dream Team, 2K Sports and Nike’s Innovation Kitchen align to improve the sneaker function from visual enhancements, the addition of new brands like Under Armour and Spalding, and the new customizable Shoe Creator module. Additional features includes a unique shader tool to help the materials and accessories stand out more as well as an opportunity to become a Nike Marquee Athlete and “meet” with Tinker Hatfield for design advice in the My Player mode. As you wait for its October 2 release, peep the above video with Senior Producer Rob Jones as he discusses in detail NBA 2K13’s sneaker advancements.
