Toyota GT-86 Comes Face-to-Face with its AE86 Predecessor

Toyota‘s new Toyota GT-86 (known as the Scion FR-S in America) has received a lot of press since its inception for its take on a purist sports car, shunning excess in favor of a light curb weight and balance. Having already received many comparisons to similarly priced cars, Auto Express magazine decided to do something a little different by comparing the new Toyota to its predecessor, Toyota’s Corolla AE86. The little AE86 has enjoyed somewhat of a cult following thanks to its balance and handling as well as a starring role in the popular manga/anime/real-life movie Initial D.
