New York’s bridgegallery is currently hosting an exhibition by FreelandBuck entitled “SLIPSTREAM.” A study in fluidity, the piece translates a 2D digital line drawing into a 3D physical structure in the process of overcoming the traditional difficulties of turning a fluid 2D digital drawing into a freestanding, self-supoorting physical piece. Composed of 1,800 individual pieces of plywood that fit together without the use of fasteners or binders of any kind, the sculpture acts as both a sculpture and as a filter, shifting views as it progresses through the gallery space. SLIPSTREAM will remain on display until August 24.
