Causing quite a stir in Pudong, Shanghai is MATTO, the latest dining concept from Yenn Wong. Despite only opening in May, the restaurant has already received the honor of Shanghai’s Best Pizza in the 2012 Food & Drink Awards. Running the show is acclaimed Naples-born chef Enzo Carbone who insisted that a proper wood-burning oven be brought in from Naples and assembled on site by hand to maintain the necessary level of consistency. Designing the interior was left to Pure Creative International founder Darryl Goveas who used a mix of industrial and raw materials to give an eclectic, dark and rustic feel to the space.
