Kendrick Lamar Says Features Will Be Minimal on 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'

In a day and age where it’s fairly common for artists to saturate their projects with an onslaught of featured guests, West Coast emcee Kendrick Lamar looks to shy away from that approach for his major label debut. And while we have already received previews of what to expect, featuring the likes of Dr. Dre and Gunplay, the TDE rapper had this to say regarding the thought process behind the upcoming album:
“I’m selfish – it’s all me,” he said. “I’ve got to pick what feels right. I never go into it thinking, ‘I want to get these people on there.’ No, I don’t force nothing and right now it’s turning out to be all me.”
This doesn’t mean, however, not to expect to hear his fellow crew members ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock on good kid, m.A.A.d city. As of now, they are slated to make an appearance. So while we await more from the October 2 release, let us know what you think about Kendrick trying to showcase his own talents and leave the feature barrage behind.
