Drawing on the Spaghetti Western references of Sergio Leone movies and filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky’s El Topo, Scott Sternberg‘s Fall/Winter 2012 collection for Band of Outsiders thankfully contains more good than bad or ugly. The collection includes an array of Band of Outsiders garments inspired by the visuals of old Mexico and the American Southwest — knits, jackets and hoodies in suede, worn-in materials and sun-faded desert colors. Among them, a sand-colored trucker, hickory-striped pullover hoodie, and forest green speckled Mexican knit are Old West-referencing standouts that also double as relaxed autumnal sportswear.
