With the full release of its Fall/Winter 2012 collection, URSUS BAPE looks to have even further aligned and solidified its mature aesthetic. Perhaps by adhering to its slightly ambiguous naming theme (with ‘ursus’ as the genus classification for bears — California’s state animal) as a sly nod to California’s preppy surf culture of fashion? At any rate, it’s not hard to see that the forthcoming line is culling inspiration from that vintage surf and prep fashion, evidenced by the retro graphic collegiate tees, full-cut denim, gym tote bags and low-top canvas sneakers.
