Madsaki "In Between" Exhibition @ Clear Edition & Gallery
Japanese painter Madsaki follows up his 2009 solo exhibition “ALL I DREAM ABOUT IS SUNSEX/PAINTING”

Japanese painter Madsaki follows up his 2009 solo exhibition “ALL I DREAM ABOUT IS SUNSEX/PAINTING” with his newest collection of works entitled “In Between.” Thematically, the work is a departure from his previous works, something he achieved by working with a new keyword — this time choosing “dissonance” as the source of inspiration. The result is a series of paintings that feature visible brushstrokes and intentional curvatures of lines. This is directly at odds with “SUNSEX,” where he tried to erase the artist’s hand from the work completely. To Madsaki, the works are indicative of his passion for the art world, where dissonance and harmony coexist naturally. “In Between” is currently open now through July 28 at Clear Edition & Gallery in Tokyo.
