The technical arm of Italian sportswear label Stone Island, the Acronym-designed Shadow Project, gives us a glimpse into its ninth technology-laden, stylishly modern garment offering with the release of a Fall/Winter 2012 lookbook. Always drawing inspiration from advancements in fabric development, the new Stone Island Shadow Project collection is “an investigation into modern texture and structure.” For the upcoming season, the offshoot utilizes the typically streamlined, modern cuts for which it is known, and continues exploring the infusion of performance properties into highly-wearable, often tailored pieces: blazers, woven shirts, and the introduction of knitwear. The functional Shadow Project sub-brand also makes strides in color development with new garment and piece-dyed items, though the line re-assuredly sticks with the dark, neutral color palette for which it is known.
