Lady Gaga’s latest enterprise sees her take on the world of social networks by creating one of her own for her fans, whom she refers to as “Little Monsters.” The new network combines a number of features from other already established sites including Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest, Tumblr and Ticketmaster that enable fans to post messages, chat in forums and share pictures. Fans can also stay up to date with the fan club style “Mother Monster” page and purchase tickets for her shows directly from the site. The charismatic pop singer collaborated with Backplane as part of the creation process, and names Troy Carter her manager as a co-founder. The site had been in an “invite-only beta” phase for some months and already has 180,000 members worldwide but has now become open for all.
