The latest spring/summer collection from French fashion entity Dior Homme was recently shown in Paris. Captained by Kris Van Assche since 2008, this season marks a largely simplistic phase from the fashion house, which has relied heavily on navy tones to emphasize a composed selection for 2013. Nonessential features are stripped away bringing us a cleanly designed array of jackets, sleeveless tops, and shirts while accented gold buttons and collar detailing seem to be two of the only examples of embellishment. Hints of military inspiration run through the collection coming in the form of well-appointed bomber jackets and naval-style jackets. Toward the show’s conclusion, a handful of garments constructed with nylon mesh constitute an unexpected addition from Van Assche.
