One of New York’s early street artists Todd James, perhaps better known by his graffiti tag REAS, invades Tokyo with his very first Japanese solo exhibition. The celebrated self-taught painter’s style recalls cheeky cartoons and focuses on themes of irony and contradiction, expressing satire by juxtaposing common images with uncommon ideas. “Yield to Temptation” explores current American issues of excess, sexuality, war and piracy. PictureBox and Nanzuka Underground have also partnered to present a unique artist’s collection of Todd’s sketches for the show. The exhibition opens June 2 and runs through July 1.
