Paying apparent ode to the post-punk fathers of grunge, Californian-born British-trained menswear designer Shaun Samson drops a whole ton of raw ’90s attitude on the good folks at Fashion East/MAN this season. Using print techniques that convincingly blend colors and shapes together, great doses of futuristic metal and characteristically oversized layers, Samson successfully recalls last millennium’s skateboarding chic with this decade’s detached irony. The collection is distinguished by heavy touches of silver on black, and those angry studs on ironic kitty’s ears.
