A track from J Dilla’s latest posthumous album Rebirth of Detroit has surfaced in the form of “Detroit Game” featuring Chuck Inglish from The Cool Kids and Boldy James. With a June 12 date set for the LP drop, this cut serves as a shadowy yet funky preview of what’s to come, with Dilla’s moniker beats marrying up with the luminous bass and teeming horns perfectly. Rebirth of Detroit is the third album to release since J Dilla’s untimely passing in 2006 aged just 32, and will be the first from Ruff Draft Records, a label created by the late producer’s mother.
