Bansky Paints the Queen as David Bowie's "Aladdin Sane"
It’s only fitting that Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee celebration should have a small contribution

It’s only fitting that Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee celebration should have a small contribution from noted Bristol artist Banksy. Located on Upper Maudlin Street near the Bristol Children’s Hospital, the recent stencil depicts Queen Elizabeth II in black and white with a colorful red and blue lightning bolt across her face much like David Bowie’s “Aladdin Sane” from the 1970s. The same location was home to two previous works by Banksy – one depicting a sniper and child as well as a work that showed David Cameron and Boris Johnson as rioters.
