Celebrating the 30th anniversary of its very first Scirocco, Volkswagen reveals this latest special edition via the Volkswagen Scirocco GTS. To be showcased at the upcoming Auto Mobil International show in Leipzig, Germany, the 2.0-liter turbo engine retro sports version hatchback proudly produces 210 horsepower and accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds to achieve a top speed of 148mph. Its sporty exterior features classic red-bordered black dual racing stripes that run from hood to tailgate, tweaked front and rear bumpers, flared side skirts, body-tinted side moldings, flashy 5-spoked 18-inch “Thunder” alloy wheels, and a rear diffuser and roof spoiler borrowed from the more powerful Scirocco R. Red accents finish the wing mirrors and brake calipers, continuing into the cabin with contrast red stitching across the black leather and plastic. Its golf ball shift knob on the six-speed manual gearbox — another classic — gives nod to the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
