Essentials: Garret Louie
Garret “GMAN” Louie’s endeavors over the past two decades are difficult to sum up briefly.

Garret “GMAN” Louie’s endeavors over the past two decades are difficult to sum up briefly. Beginning in the early ’90s with the founding of distribution agencies Timebomb and F-Bomb Trading, LA street brand Freshjive was the first of many to be brought into Canada by Garret. Now working with labels such as LRG, RVCA and Etnies, the West Coast trader also operates sneaker boutique Livestock. In addition to being hugely influential on the landscape of Canadian street culture, GMAN introduced Fortune Sound in 2009 with partner Rob Rizk as a nightclub venue in Vancouver. Illustrating his prankster side as well as some items he uses on a daily basis, we take a look at Louie’s Essentials. Amongst the portable Urbanears Medis Headphones and Incase Charger, we are further presented with a clean Becky Brisko Necklace and the ever popular inclusion of obscure Japanese candy.
