New York probably isn’t the first place that comes to mind when associated with surfing, but SoHo-based Saturdays Surf NYC is changing that. The fashion, art and surf culture curators (as well as housing a dedicated boardshop) have always been content to create classics through collaborations, but for Spring 2012, the label is introducing their own line. At the moment, the collection contains two pieces – the high-top Mike, and a casual low walk shoe called the Jay — both named after surfing pioneers. The sneaker models follow the traditional construction themes of a canvas upper and vulcanized rubber sole, but with a classic and subtle detailing that is distinctly Saturdays Surf. You can grab a pair of the Mike ($95 USD) or the Jay ($80 USD) at the Saturdays Surf NYC online shop.
