New York Magazine’s “Best of New York” issue this year will feature Steve Powers’ distinct design concept for its cover. Best known for his acronym moniker ESPO (Exterior Surface Painting Outreach), Steve Powers has outdone a few top designers including Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller of Faile, Jason Kernevich and Dustin Summers of the Heads of State, and illustrator Christoph Niemann with his “series of brash enamel-on-aluminum and spray-paint-on-Plexiglas signs” that seemingly projected a cross between retro pop-art and modern designs. You can grab a copy of this issue at newsstands starting March 12, 2012.
