New Aaliyah album in the works

It appears that a posthumous album from Aaliyah is in the works. Producer Jeffery “J. Dub” Walker of The Hitmen has received notice that the unreleased song “Steady Ground” of the late and great songstress, which was produced by him, will be featured on an upcoming new album. However, this has yet to be confirmed by Aaliyah’s label, the Interscope-distributed Blackground Records. If it comes to fruition, it could be her first non-compilation CD since her death 11 years ago. Her previous posthumous albums, 2002’s I Care For You and 2005’s Ultimate Aaliyah, are both best-of projects with the former also containing three songs that were previously unreleased. Stay tuned.
