British designer Matthew Miller has made a name for himself through his bold design choices and unorthodox sources of inspiration. He assembled the look and feel of his Fall/Winter 2012 collection by wandering the streets of London looking for beauty in everyday surface design, then logging every interesting surface he could find, noting the composition and the geographical reference. He then used these points to create interactive prints that allowed the wearer of his product to vicariously interact with Miller’s own environment. True to form, and true to that process, his upcoming collection showcases traditional cool-weather designs like blazers, sweaters, and trench coats all turned upside-down through bold color and pattern choices.
