In this edition of Pen & Paper, we explore the psychedelic mind of famed illustrator Hattie Stewart. A natural doodler from a young age, Hattie’s love for random drawings eventually earned her a BA in illustration from Kingston University. Having worked with big names such as Marc Jacobs and Katie Hillier, her work is a hypnotic display of pulsating colors and painstaking details. However, it was the “defacing” or reinterpretation of today’s magazine covers that took Hattie’s fame to the next level. Modern magazines that have received her treatment include Vogue, i-D and WONDERLAND to name a few. Check out more of her cheeky animations and collaborations here.
