After previewing the upcoming KAWS Companion balloon for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade earlier in the week here, we can now show you images of the ballon being prepared for its maiden flight in New York City. Measuring an impressive 40 feet long and crafted from urethane-coated nylon, the Companion balloon is one of the most ambitious works to date from KAWS. With this latest piece, KAWS joins the likes of Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami as one of the few notable artists to exhibit their works in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Check the images for a look at this impressive balloon as it was being prepped for its official debut.
