Founded in 2008 by Jason McCarthy with the vision of producing some of the most durable and functional bags in the world, GORUCK has quickly gone on to establish itself as one of the premier gear and backpack brands. Modelled after the bags McCarthy used while serving U.S. Special Forces, GORUCK’s range incorporates military details and hardware while maintaining a sleek, minimal aesthetic, making them perfect for urban use. The Mil Kit Bag is the latest product from GORUCK; inspired by aviator kit bags, the Mil Kit Bag features a cavernous 84-liter main compartment that’s large enough to store gear for a small army and will easily swallow enough clothes for a long getaway. Inside are three pockets with red paracord zipper tabs for quick identification, just another one of the mini details that’s easy to overlook but one that GORUCK manages to get right. The outside of the bag features a drop pocket on one end and PALS webbing on the other to accommodate MOLLE-compatible pouches such as GORUCK’s RR, GR1 and GR2 Field Pouches. The Velcro patch at the center of the bags lets you customize with a patch of your choice; we’re partial to the new leather Flag and Spearhead patches. Like all GORUCK products, this bag is manufactured at the company’s Bozeman, Montana facility and is built to last. Having owned a GR1 and Radio Ruck for the last year and a half, this writer can certainly attest to the fact that these bags simply will not fail on you. The Mil Kit Bag is available in GORUCK’s signature black as well as their recently introduced sand and multi-cam colorways, and can be purchased at GORUCK’s online store for $245 USD.
