Consisting originally of handmade, printed tees, the label has since expanded to include a complete range of streetwear infused with an eccentric Japanese flair. For Spring/Summer 2013, Shitano looked to the modern city as his inspiration for the new “OFF CITY” collection — the designer was himself raised in the metropolitan ward of Shinjuku, and this is reflected in the clothing’s distinctly urban vibe and predominantly dark color palette. The range consists of tailored basics interspersed with technical garments and modern details, along with prints and pops of color that suggest city lights and urban signage.
