For the Fall/Winter 2012 season Nike is releasing a redesigned version of the ’80s era Nike ACG Lava Dome dubbed the Air Lava Dome 2012. Thirty years on, the Air Lava Dome sports a redesigned upper incorporating durable ripstop nylon on the toecap, side panels and tongue. Rough suede adds a rugged touch to the toe box, midfoot panels and heel. High-profile gum soles with aggressive treading are attached to the upper with a welted construction for an increased lifespan as well as increased durability. Available in black, tan and light grey colorways, the Air Lava Dome 2012 looks to be a worthy successor to the original. Look for the shoe to hit select Nike accounts soon.
