When it comes to the music industry, Cee Lo Green has been around, so to speak. From being in the legendary hip-hop group Goodie Mob in the 1990s, to finding success years later with Danger Mouse by his side as Gnarls Barkley, to dishing out his own pop hits over the past few years as a solo artist, to being a host on the NBC talent show The Voice, to bringing the Mob back for a new album, to venturing into big screen acting with this year’s Hotel Transylvania, the 38-year-old has seemingly done it all. But one beloved area he hasn’t applied his talents is that of holiday music. Wait, nope, he’s done that too. On October 30, Green’s Christmas album, CeeLo’s Magic Moment will hit stores with duets from the likes of Rod Stewart, B.o.B, Christina Aguilera and The Muppets. The first sample of it has arrived in the form of “Silent Night,” a cover of the timeless carol by the same name that all of us have probably heard more times than we’d like over the course of our lives. Up top, listen to Green go angelic with some slow motion visuals to accompany. If elves in his North Pole look like the ones in the clip, CeeLo’s Magic Moment should be an interesting journey in sound. If you’re into it, pre-order the LP over at iTunes.
