On Wednesday night, Los Angeles was abuzz with live music. And although artists such as Neil Young were in town, it was a night for hip-hop. While Kendrick Lamar was holding things down downtown with two back-to-back shows, up in Hollywood was Big Boy’s Block Party, which featured performances by Big Sean, Lupe Fiasco, Hit-Boy and Nipsey Hussle. Before Sean made his way to Club Nokia to join the likes of Dr. Dre, Game and T.I. as one of the special guests Kendrick brought on stage late that night, the G.O.O.D. Music emcee received some visitors of his own during his co-headlining set. When it came time to perform the Cruel Summer hit, “Clique,” at Big Boy’s Block Party, Sean made sure everyone in attendance knew what squad he runs with. The first surprise guest to appear was James Fauntleroy to sing the intro to the track, and then came KiD CuDi, Hit-Boy, Ibn Jasper, Ricky Anderson and King Chip to bounce along and show support.
