Audemars Piguet has unveiled a special edition of its classic Royal Oak Offshore timepiece, specially created for Formula One driving legend Michael Schumacher. Featuring a 44mm case alongside a rugged CeraMet one-piece bezel, the unique chronograph sports an anthracite dial with the brand’s Mega-tapisserie motif. Offering automotive inspiration throughout, the watch features newly-designed luminescent-coated gold hour and minute hands with a checkered flag-inspired minute track, gear wheel-inspired crown, and a backing reminiscent of a wheel’s spokes. Finally, seven stars appears between the 12 o’clock and 1 o’clock positions – two blue stars signifying Schumacher’s championships with Benetton and five red stars for those with the Ferrari team. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Michael Schumacher Limited Edition chronograph is limited to 1,000 pieces in titanium ($42,500 USD), 500 in 18k pink gold ($75,000 USD), and just 100 in platinum ($110,000 USD).
