In a similar light to the recently seen X-mini II Capsule Speaker, the X-mini KAI (Key Audio Initiative) looks to continue on a route of innovation. The speaker enjoys an even cleaner and unadulterated look thanks to the use of Bluetooth as the point of connection. Aside from X-mini’s signature 40mm drivers and ability to link up subsequent speakers in chained fashion, the speaker can also serve as an accompaniment to teleconferences thanks to a built-in microphone. While Bluetooth audio options are still cost prohibitive and yet to hit mainstream availability, the KAI provides a step into the future and provides a highly convenient and easy to transport audio option. Priced at approximately $111 USD, the speaker is over two times that of the original but with convenience being an important element for many, it’s worth considering.
